Four linkages shown have identical link lengths, except a different link (in white) is stationary (shown with an anchor) in each link. Note that the shortest link can make a complete revolution in each inversion.

The crank rocker (shown in the upper left corner) and the inversion on the upper right have similar motions. The inversion on the lower left is a double-crank, also called a drag link, when the shortest link is fixed. The inversion on the lower left is a double rocker, where the coupler is the shortest link and can make a complete revolution .
