InfoThe output link (in black, at the upper left corner) of the eightbar linkage (on left) and the sixbar linkage (on right) has curvilinear translation (parallel motion) with no translation. This is demonstrated by three coupler curves, traced by three points, having identical shapes at different locations. Either sixbar linkage or eightbar linkage is a cognate of the fourbar linkage (shown in red) providing parallel motion that follows the coupler curve of the fourbar.
