WHAT'S ON THIS CD?
==================

The Supplemental Course Material companion CD contains multimedia presentations, 
as well as pre-compiled copies of the lab exercises. Also included on the disc 
are a Self-Test Software Visual Basic 6.0 Sample Exam, and the Microsoft Press 
Multimedia Course, "Learn Visual Basic 6.0 Now".


HOW TO USE THE CD
=================

Multimedia Presentations
-------------------------

The multimedia presentations described in the text are found in the 
\Animations folder. 

To view a presentation associated with a particular chapter, run the 
corresponding \Animations\Chxx.exe file (where xx represents the chapter 
number). To view a presentation associated with a particular lab, run the 
corresponding \Animations\Labxx.exe file (where xx represents the lab number).


Lab Exercises & Practice Folders
---------------------------------

The lab exercises, including partial and complete solutions, are organized 
in the \Labs folder by number. Empty practice folders to be used to save your 
work during the chapter practices are organized in the \Practice folder. 

To install the lab exercises and practice folders to your hard disk, run the 
setup.exe program located in the root of the companion CD and follow the 
instructions that appear on your screen.


Self-Test Software Visual Basic 6.0 Sample Exam
------------------------------------------------

The Self-Test Software demonstration for exam 70-176 is located in the 
\MP176 folder. To install the demonstration exam to your hard disk, run 
the MP176.exe program located in this folder and follow the instructions 
that appear on your screen.


Learn Visual Basic 6.0 Now
-------------------------- 

The Microsoft Press multimedia course "Learn Visual Basic 6.0 Now" is 
located in the \LMVB6N folder. To install the course, run the 
\LMVB6N\setup.exe program and follow the instructions that appear on your 
screen. The setup wizard will load the Learn Visual Basic 6.0 Now title 
to drive C. Note that you must have this companion CD in your CD-ROM 
drive to run the program. 

For additional information, refer to the Readme.txt file located in the 
\LMVB6N folder.



SUPPORT INFORMATION
===================

Troubleshooting
---------------

 - Long filenames on companion CD.

If you have an older, 16 bit CD-ROM drive, you may experience problems
viewing the long filenames on this CD. Contact  your CD-ROM drive manufacturer 
for more information and for an updated driver for the drive.

 - Note that manually copying sample files from the companion CD to your 
hard disk may require resetting each file's read-only attribute in order
to properly use the file.
