- 24 MB RAM for Windows 95 or later (48 MB recommended) [See 'Note' below.]
- 32 MB for Windows NT 4.0 or later (48 MB recommended)
- Disk space required for basic install of VC++ only: 266 MB typical, 370 MB maximum
- Disk Space required for VC++ and Service Pack install: 345 MB
- (NOTE: Because the Service Pack mostly replaces files, it only adds about 30 MB typically)
- Disk Space required for all contents of this CD is about 380 MB
Windows 2000 and XP Users
Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 Introductory Edition can be installed on either version of Windows. To successfully install the program you will need to be logged in as administrator. The MS-DOS Prompt has been replaced by the Command Prompt on both Windows 2000 and XP.

- When using the Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, Introductory Edition, software you will receive a message each time you execute an executable file. This message will pop up in a dialogue box informing you that the introductory version does not allow the distribution of executables. This software, provided free of charge, is designed for use on a single system for learning and experimentation. There is no way to disable the appearance of this message.
