Software Requirements
The software requirements vary among platforms
and operating systems and are frequently updated by BEA. Check the Platforms
Support for WebLogic Server, or the Supported
Platforms for WebLogic Commerce Server on the BEA web site for the
latest information on your platform and operating system.
Installation of BEA WebLogic Server, release
5.1
To install the NT version of BEA WebLogic Server
release 5.1, just double-click on the weblogic510.exe
file and follow the instructions. To install on UNIX, unpack the weblogic510.zip
file with a jar or zip utility.
To complete the installation, you must copy the
evaluation license file that you saved when you registered. Copy this file
over the existing license\WebLogicLicense.xml
file at the top level of your installation.
Finish the installation process according to
the online installation
guide for WebLogic Server 5.1. Included here is important information
on installing the software, setting up your environment, installing a JDBC
driver, and testing your connection to your DBMS.
In the distribution kit on this CD you will find
many source code examples to help you get started. After you install the
product on your machine, take a look in the examples directory.
Installation of BEA WebLogic Commerce Server,
release 2.0.1
To install the NT version of BEA Commerce WebLogic
Server release 2.0.1, just double-click on the WLCS_201_NT4.exe
file and follow the instructions. To install on UNIX, unpack the WLCS_201_UNIX.zip
file with a jar utility, and follow the UNIX
Installation Instructions.
To complete the installation, you must follow
these instructions for licensing the evaluation software. For more information,
please review the current release
notes for WebLogic Commerce Server.
- Go to the evaluation page you were provided upon
registration, right-click on the file WebLogicCommerceLicense.xml
and select Save Target As.
- Save the file in a local directory you will remember,
such as C:\TEMP, or in the default directory where the installation program
will look for it (if the directory exists), C:\WebLogicCommerce\license.
- When you run the Setup.exe, the installation program
will ask for the location of this license file. If you cannot locate it
or if it has been saved incorrectly, the installation program will not
be able to continue.
