Using the Find Duplicates Query Wizard

You can run a query to find all the records that have duplicate values in one or more fields. A Find Duplicates Query is useful to find all employees who live in the same city (duplicates in the city field) or projects that are due at the same time (duplicates in the DueDate field).

To run the Find Duplicates Query Wizard:

  1. Start the Find Duplicates Query Wizard by clicking the New Object toolbar button arrow. Select Query. Click Find Duplicates Query Wizard, and click OK.
  2. Pick the table or query that you want to search for duplicate values. Click Next.
  3. Add the field or fields which might contain duplicate values. Click Next.
  4. Add additional fields that you want to include in the query results. Add the fields that will help identify how the duplicate values are related. Click Next.
  5. Give the query a title, and click Finish to view the results.

To start the Find Duplicates Query Wizard:
  1. Click the New button in the Queries window. Click Find Duplicates Query Wizard. Click OK.
  2. Select Query from the Insert menu. Click Find Duplicates Query Wizard. Click OK.
