Planning

The feasibility study looks at three main areas of feasibility:

  1. Economic feasibility: Is building the new system cost effective?
  2. Operational feasibility: Will the new system be used by people in the organization?
  3. Technical feasibility: Is it technically possible to create the new system?

When creating a feasibility study, it is important to focus on three main areas — economic feasibility, operational feasibility, and technical feasibility. Economic feasibility assesses the costs and benefits of the new system — "Is building the new system cost effective?" Operational feasibility evaluates whether people in the organization will use the new system — "Will the new system be used by the people in the organization?" Technical feasibility examines the technical aspects of the new system — "Is it technically possible to create the new system?"
