Moving Selected Cells Using Drag-and-Drop

It's easy to move data around in your workbook. The simplest way to move data from one cell to another is to use drag-and-drop. Drag-and-drop is the process of selecting an object and moving it somewhere else by using only your mouse. No keyboard shortcuts or menus are needed to move data using the drag-and-drop method.



To move the contents of a cell:

  1. Select the cell or cells you want to move.
  2. Place your cursor over the selected cells until it changes to the Move cursor.
  3. Click and hold the left mouse button and drag the mouse until the cursor is in the cell you want.
  4. Release the left mouse button and the content has been moved.
