Freezing and Unfreezing Rows and Columns

If you have a worksheet with many columns and rows of data, you may find it helpful to freeze certain rows and columns. By doing this, you can keep heading labels visible as you scroll through your data.

To freeze and unfreeze rows and columns:

1. Select the cell which is below the rows you want to freeze and to the right of columns you want to freeze.
2. Click Freeze Panes from the Window menu. Your worksheet now has four panes with the top and left panes frozen.
3. Click Unfreeze Panes from the Window menu to return your worksheet to normal.

To freeze only rows, select the leftmost cell in the row below the row you want to freeze. To freeze only columns, select the top cell in the column to the right of the column you want to freeze.
