Setting and Clearing the Print Area

If you do not want to print your entire worksheet, you can set a print area. The print area is a range of cells that you designate to print. If you have defined a print area for your worksheet, it will be the only part of the worksheet that prints when you select the print option.

To set a print area:

  1. Select the area you want to print.
  2. On the File menu, point to Print area and click Set Print Area.
  3. When you print your document, only the selected area will print.

Use the Print Preview button to see what your printed worksheet will look like.
When you save the worksheet, the print area is saved as well. To turn off a print area, click Clear Print Area on the Print Area submenu.
