Entering a Range in a Formula by Dragging

To enter cell references by dragging:

  1. Click the cell in which you want to enter the formula.
  2. Begin the formula by typing an equal sign.
  3. Click the first cell of the range of cells.
  4. Holding the mouse button down, drag the mouse until it is over the last cell of the range.
  5. Release the mouse button to enter the range in the formula.
  6. Finish the formula as you normally would.
  7. Press Enter.
