Inserting and Editing Hyperlinks
A hyperlink is text or a graphic that when clicked opens another page or file. You can use hyperlinks to link a cell in a worksheet to another part of the workbook or to another document, such as a Web page.
To create a text hyperlink:
- Select the cell in which you want to place the link.
- Click the Insert Hyperlink button on the Standard toolbar to open the Insert Hyperlink dialog box.
- Select an option under Link to: and select the file to which you want to link.
- Type the text of the link in the Text to display: box.
- Click OK to insert the hyperlink into your worksheet.
A ScreenTip is a bubble that appears when the mouse is placed over the link. Click the Screen Tip... button in the Insert Hyperlink dialog box to add a ScreenTip that includes a more meaningful description of the hyperlink.
