Creating Presentations from a Blank Presentation

In PowerPoint, you can create presentations for delivery on your computer, across the Internet, or by more traditional means such as overhead transparencies and slides. Start by determining the information you need to convey to your audience. Next, you'll want to explore PowerPoint's many design elements to develop the best way to deliver your presentation. A PowerPoint presentation can be as simple or as complex as you need.

To create a new presentation:

  1. Click the New button on the standard toolbar.
  2. Select a layout from the Slide Layout task pane.
  3. Add any text to your slide.

Any time you need to give a presentation in front of a live audience, it is always a good idea to rehearse your entire presentation beforehand.
To create a new blank presentation, you can also:
  1. Select New... from the File menu
  2. Press + on the keyboard
  3. Click Blank Presentation in the New Presention task pane
