An Excel chart can be inserted into a presentation as an embedded or linked object. Information in a linked object is updated if the source file is edited. Information in an embedded object does not change if you modify the source file.
To insert an Excel chart:
When you insert the Excel file as an embedded object, only one worksheet is displayed. To display a different worksheet in the workbook, double-click the Excel object and choose a different worksheet. |

Linked objects: Linked data is stored in the source file; the destination file stores only the location of the source file and displays a representation of the linked data. When data is changed in the original source file, the linked object is updated to reflect the changes. |
