Applying Animation Schemes

An animation scheme is a set of predefined visual effects which you can apply to elements of your presentation. Animation schemes are divided into three categories—subtle, moderate, and exciting—and include everything from simple fades and wipes to more complex animations, such as scrolling and spinning text.

To apply an animation scheme:

  1. Select the slides you want to change.
  2. Select Animation Schemes... on the Slide Show menu.
  3. Click a scheme in the Apply to selected slides: window.
  4. Click a different scheme to change the animation scheme for the selected slides.

Click the Apply to All Slides button to apply the same animation scheme to the entire presentation.
When you first click an animation scheme, you will see a preview of the animation in the slide pane. To view the preview again, click the Play button in the task pane, or click the animation icon on the Slides tab. Click the Slide Show button to view the entire presentation in a full screen.
If the Slide Design task pane is open, click Animation Schemes to display the preset animations available in PowerPoint.
