Developer/2000 Delivers Portability
with New Support for IBM OS/2
and Macintosh

Oracle Enhances Platform Independence for the Professional

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ via Individual Inc. --
Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq: ORCL) today announced Developer/2000 for IBM OS/2 and
Mac 68K, making Oracle's second generation client/server development tool
the most portable enterprise-level 4GL environment on the market. Along
with native support for Windows 95, Windows NT, Windows 3.x, Motif character
terminals and PowerMac operating environments, Developer/2000 also enables
reports to be deployed on intranets and the Internet in HTML or Adobe's
Portable Document Format.

With the new version of Developer/2000 running on OS/2 (Warp and 2.1) and
Mac 68K, thousands of developers and users worldwide will be able to use the
powerful functionality of Developer/2000, the industry's leading 4GL tool.
By providing scalable, multi-platform application development and support
for heterogeneous GUIs, Developer/2000 alleviates the costs and complexities
of cross-platform development, migration and maintenance. The
Developer/2000 expanded portability enables professional developers and
organizations to rapidly build sophisticated application solutions and
deploy them on the platform of their choice, preserving corporations'
investments in their installed operating environments. With native support
for Windows, Motif, Macintosh, character-based platforms and now OS/2,
Developer/2000 provides the best cross-platform deployment toolset available
in the 4GL market.

"Oracle's Developer/2000 for OS/2 Warp is an important tool to the Novus
client/server reporting strategy," said Bill Floyd, vice president of
Information Technology, Novus Services, Inc. "We are pleased that Oracle
continues to support OS/2 Warp desktop and server operating systems in their
database and related software product lines."

"We are putting the power and productivity of Developer/2000 into the
hands of OS/2 developers, while continuing to support Windows, Unix and
Macintosh developers everywhere," said Sohaib Abbasi, senior vice president
of Oracle's Tools Division. "Developer/2000 delivers the most powerful
combination of workgroup-through-enterprise scalability, multi-tier
application partitioning and operating system support available."

"We are excited to have Oracle's premier client/server application
development tool on OS/2 Warp," said John W. Thompson, general manager of
IBM's Personal Systems Products. "Thousands of companies and development
groups using OS/2 Warp can draw upon Developer/2000 to deliver the robust,
scalable application development solutions they need."

Developer/2000 support for Mac 68K is available this month, while support
for OS/2 Warp is scheduled for general availability in the fourth quarter of
1996.

Oracle's application development tools are used by over half a million
developers worldwide. Developer/2000 is the first client/server development
tool to deliver workgroup-through-enterprise scalability and the only tool
on the market that uses the same programming language on both the client and
the server. Core strengths, such as drag-and-drop application partitioning,
support the development of highly scalable applications.

Developer/2000 proved to be the strongest tool in InfoWorld's June 17,
1996, comparative review of enterprise level RAD tools. In Computerworld's
I/S User Brand Preference survey for application development tools conducted
in May 1996, Oracle's Developer/2000 placed first in four out of seven 4GL
categories, while Designer/2000, Oracle's analysis, modeling and design
tool, swept all seven CASE categories.
