Through the Advanced Search you can search for software given on previous PCQuest CDs and articles in the previous issues of PCQuest magazine. When looking for particular software, the Advanced Search will tell you when it was carried on the PCQuest CD. When looking for an article, it will tell you the magazine issue; you will also be able to read the article. The Advanced Search indexes software from January 2001 up to the present month. It indexes articles from March 2001 up to the previous month's articles.

To use the Adavanced Search, click on Advanced Search link on the lower right corner of the interface. This will pop up the Advanced Search window. Click the radio buttons to specify whether you want to search articles of PCQuest magazine or software on the CD-ROM. Using the drop-down list, you can search for articles in one or all of the following categories: Technology, Review, Developers, Hands On, News and Columns. Similarly, you can search for software in one or all of the categories that you find on our CD. These comprise Games, Featured, Internet, Developers, Indianware, Utilities, Linux and Macintosh.

When entering keywords keep them explicit. This is because our search script will look for each separate keyword that you enter. For example, if you type in chat clients, it will look for both software in which chat appears, and those in which clients appears. If you're searching for a particular phrase, enclose it in double quotes, for example, "download managers".

Pressing enter or clicking on the Search button will display the results in the bottom left frame. Clicking on the result will show its description. In the case of articles search the description will show the magazine issue, article type, a short description and a link to the article.

Though the search also indexes January 2001 and February 2001 articles, it does not display links to the article pages.

In the case of software search, the description will show the issue, software type and a short description of the software.
