The Garden Company opens new Seattle location New owner offers convenience and specialized products Seattle, September 23, 1998: The new owner of the popular local garden retailer, The Garden Company, has relocated the company headquarters to larger premises in a convenient Seattle retail zone. The new location boasts 8000 square feet of retail and classroom space and 2.8 acres of planting space, including 4 specialized theme gardens. Catherine Turner purchased The Garden Company in July 1998, and recently completed negotiations to purchase the new space located on Oak Street. "We are excited about the new possibilities offered to our patrons, including our specialized aqua gardens and carnivorous plant display," says Ms. Turner. The Garden Company’s new carnivorous plant garden features several of the world’s most dangerous plants. A source at the local Master Gardener Association reports a keen interest in these plants among prestigious Eastside homeowners, who have recently experienced an increase in the number of incidents involving coyotes and domestic pets. |
