As long as you applied heading styles to the headings in a document, you can get from place to place very quickly with the document map (Chapter 9 explains styles). As shown in Figure 8-3, the document map is a list of all the headings in a document. By scrolling down the list and clicking on the heading you want to move to, you can get there very quickly.
To see the document map, click the Document Map button on the Standard toolbar or choose View | Document Map. To move the cursor to a heading, click on it. You may have to scroll to find the heading you want first. If you have trouble reading a heading, point to it with the cursor. As Figure 8-3 shows, all the words in headings appear when you point to them. You can also drag the border of the headings window to make more room onscreen for headings.
Click the Document Map button again or choose View | Document Map to leave Document Map view.
