Most of the common Office tools described in Part I of this book also work for formatting text on a slide. The techniques for choosing a font are the same in Word as PowerPoint, for example. Both programs have a Bullets button. The Align buttons work the same as the Align buttons in Excel.
More so than the other programs in Office 2000, however, PowerPoint presentations are meant to be seen and not read. Therefore, the program offers buttons that you can click to change font sizes and line spacing by increments and "eyeball" the text to make sure it looks right. As shown in Figure 17-12, select the text whose font size or line spacing you want to change and then click these buttons:
· Increase Paragraph Spacing or Decrease Paragraph Spacing to increase or decrease the amount of space that appears between lines. These buttons are not on the default toolbar, but you can add them using the techniques explained earlier in this book.
· Increase Font Size or Decrease Font Size to enlarge or shrink the size of letters.
