You can preview messages two ways in Outlook; using AutoPreview and using the Preview Pane (see Figure 20-9). As shown in the figure, AutoPreview displays the first two lines of all new messages, and is handy for quickly determining whether or not you would like to read a message. The Preview Pane displays the contents of the currently selected message in a resizable pane at the bottom of your screen. If a message is too big to efficiently read in the Preview Pane, you can always double click the message to open it in a message window.
TIP: To toggle the AutoPreview or Preview Pane on or off, choose the View menu’s AutoPreview or Preview Pane command. To change the Preview Pane’s options, choose Tools | Options, click the Other tab, then click the Preview Pane button.
TIP: Hit the spacebar to quickly display the next message in the Preview Pane.
