Grouping and Ungrouping Frames

Some of the placeholder frames that Publisher adds to the publication are actually multiple frames grouped together. For example, what looks like a single picture frame might actually include a picture frame and a text frame for the picture’s caption. To work with the picture and text components individually (for example, if you want to rotate or resize the picture but not the text), you need to first ungroup the frame elements. You can tell when multiple elements are grouped because when you select the frame, Publisher displays colored boxes around the individual elements in the group and the Ungroup Objects button at the bottom of the frame. (This button looks like two interlocked puzzle pieces.) To ungroup the frame components, select the frame and click the Ungroup Objects button.

TIP: To group frames that you want to move or work with together, select the first frame, hold down the Ctrl key and select the other frame(s), and then click the Group Objects button.
