After you create and insert text in your text frames, you probably want to set text frame properties, such as the margins between the text and the frame, the number of columns, the way the text frame wraps around other frames, and whether the text frame includes an area for a “Continued From Page” or “Continued On Page” line.
To set text frame properties, follow these steps:
1. Select the text frame by clicking it.
2. Click the Text Frame Properties toolbar button to display the Text Frame Properties dialog box shown in Figure 31-5.
3. Use the Margins boxes to specify the amount of space between the text and the frame.
4. Use the Columns boxes to specify the number of columns in the frame and the space between the columns.
NOTE: Publisher provides two ways for creating columns of text: You can create individual text frames and link them together or you can create multiple columns within a single text frame. Unless the text all fits on one page and you want all columns to line up top and bottom, you’ll want to use the former option.
5. Use the Options check boxes to specify whether you want the text in the frame to go around any overlapping objects (such as picture frames) and whether you want the frame to include a line alerting readers that the frame is connected to another frame on a different page.
6. Click OK.
